Under 14s semi final report

29 April 2018

Redland U14s 3 - Yate U14s 4

The final match of the season for the U14 squad was the Avon League Plate semi-final against Yate on Sunday 29 April. We had a full squad for this match and were well prepared for the game.

Despite Redland conceding an early goal, the first half was a fairly even affair and both sides attacked with pace and purpose. We had chances from the right wing but their goalkeeper made some important saves and it took a close range chance to even the score at half time 1-1.

Yate came out strong at the start of the second half and before we knew it we were 1-3 down. The team raised their game and again attacked with pace and purpose and were rewarded with a great shot from Annabel to make it 2-3. Yate again pressed forward and earned a short corner, which we failed to clear to make the score 2-4.

Redland again picked up the effort and this time another attack from the right was finished off by Tilly to make the score 3-4. We pressed and pressed and had a really good chance as time was running out but the Yate goalkeeper again saved the day from a close range shot.

The final score was Yate 4  - Redland 3, but it was a very exciting and entertaining game to watch. The girls did themselves proud and should be proud of their achievement and performances this season.

Well done.
