Junior report – January 2018

Our Monday evening coaching continued into December and we had really productive sessions until the weather thwarted our last Christmas-themed activity on 11th December when the pitch froze before 5pm.

We’ll be starting the New Year with a mini tournament on Monday 8th January to make up for the cancelled session before Christmas.

Avon League

The good quality coaching has proved to be very valuable in the Avon League performances with the U10’s having a much improved showing on 12th November, beating Firebrands B 1-0, Weston 2-0 and Old Bristolians 1-0 before losing to Team Bath 0-2. The squad is starting to put some good hockey together and they’re now discovering where the goal is – well done and keep up the improvement.

The U14’s remain unbeaten in the Avon League and top their league with a maximum 9 points from 3 games. Our last game was against Firebrands B on 3rd December when we had another very convincing 5-0 win.

We had a game scheduled for 10th December but this had to be postponed because of a frozen pitch so a rearrangement will need to be made.

The U10’s had another session at Golden Hill on 26th November and managed to perform well with a small squad.
